Hey there! My name is Yana and this is my blog.

If you’re reading an About page, you’re probably curious about the person behind the words, so here are a few things you might want to know about me.

My life happens between two countries: Bulgaria and Germany. I was born in Bulgaria and have been living in Germany for over twelve years now. Developing this kind of in-between identity has made life challenging, sometimes confusing – but also deeply meaningful and inspiring.

At the time of writing, I am a PhD candidate in Marketing, hoping to continue in academia. Doing a PhD brought back a long-forgotten love for writing, and unexpectedly gave me a new perspective on what I want to do in life. It took a few years working in industry to understand what truly fits me – but that whole career journey is a story for another place. Perhaps a CV page (coming soon).

And finally, a few words about this blog. It’s still very much a baby. For now, you’ll mostly find my thoughts, reflections, and curiosities about things that interest me – without a strict structure or a defined theme. I want to give myself the freedom to explore, to wander a bit, and to write honestly. Maybe one day it will all come together.
